Piggery construction in South Africa and abroad

Prime has been part of the piggery construction sector in South Africa and abroad for decades. With the recent exponential growth in demand for pork meat products in Southern Africa and beyond driving a fast paced and competitive agricultural construction sector, Prime has managed to stay abreast of innovation in the field and have adapted our designs accordingly.

New advances in piggery equipment and housing automated systems have led to new structural designs and construction techniques – facilitating better hygiene, feed conversion ratios, energy savings, waste management and ease of overall management. Environmental legislation and regulation for new piggeries have also led to new designs and more effective systems being implemented, and Prime has been a part of this exciting new trend development.

Our team will be able to assist clients from the design phase, collaborating with your equipment supplier of choice, thereby ensuring the best end result, and a streamlined construction phase on-site. Prime can supply structures including steelwork, roofing and insulation, wetworks and concrete works, as well as ramps and walkways.

We have extensive knowledge in slurry pit lagoon layouts, piggery structures using varying building materials and insulated panel housing units. Newly built farrowing units and weaner units using insulated chromadek panels and tiled wall surfaces have been showing great results.

We have constructed piggery units all over South Africa, including for clients such as No 2 Piggeries and Zandam Piggeries.
